Join us for an exclusive webinar with the renowned professor and scholar, Andrews Samuels. Directly from São Paulo, he will present the central themes of his book “Jung and the Post-Jungians,” which is being relaunched by Editora Vozes.
This is your opportunity to explore the different schools of Jungian analysis and how they are evolving.
Furthermore, you will delve into the relationship between analytical psychology and psychoanalysis.
Understand how Jung’s pioneering work anticipated the debate on themes we experience today and how they reflect on the role of psychotherapy in society.
In this book, Andrew Samuels discusses the obstacles to the recognition of Jungian psychology, as well as the combination of sublime and universal characters with the utilitarian and everyday focus of this approach.
However, there is criticism regarding the difference between the summarized analytical psychology found in student manuals and the analytically practiced psychology with clinical efficacy and professional respect, which are very different.
Hence the importance of delving into the studies that preceded Jung’s ideas, as the post-Jungians engage with Jung’s works based on criticisms made by non-Jungians, adapting and integrating parallel developments from other approaches in psychology, thus providing a plurality of viewpoints.
Jung wrote several volumes of his work on the subject, especially towards the end of his life.
This webinar is intended for psychologists, Jungian analysts, psychotherapists, and students in training and scholars on the subject. It is also aimed at therapists and counselors who do not have a Jungian background but wish to understand more about analytical psychology.
